Wayfaring Encounters – Research project

A record of experimental attempts at attending to a Wayfaring line as primary motivator, conducted through a practice of gradually assembling a catalogue of compositions for a collection of wooden tripods. The catalogue is a growing bank of researched assemblies constructed with an essence or identity that is unique to the constellation. Some compositions are donated, some revealed through play, some designed, some improbable. The compositions seem to commonly be suggestive of archetypal forms, in such they are encountered as both the materials themselves and the projection or image with which we make meaning.

The research seeks to facilitate public encounters with the catalogue through the practice/performance of bringing the compositions to life as an un-mapped live build, self evolving along a wayfaring line that we navigate together, transiently populating a series of diverse Landscapes, currently a juxtaposition of Indoor gallery/studio spaces and outdoor environments.
